WILMINGTON, Del. – To help Delawareans looking for work during this difficult economic time, U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons, and U.S. Representative John Carney (all D-Del.) will host a job fair on Tuesday, May 31st from 9 am to 2 pm at Delaware Technical and Community College in Dover.
“Helping Delawareans find good jobs is priority number one for the entire Delaware delegation,” Senator Carper said. “Connecting employers with potential employees is a win-win for the First State as we help put people back to work and expand the local economy.”
“There is still room at the job fair for more employers in the region looking to hire capable, energetic Delawareans,” said Senator Coons, who hosted a job fair in Wilmington in April that drew more than 2,200 people looking for work. “Businesses that have openings and would like to participate in the job fair should contact my office to reserve their spot. We’re committed to doing everything we can to help Delawareans get back to work.”
“While the economy is trending in the right direction, we must do more to create jobs and improve the economy,” Congressman Carney said. “There are far too many unemployed Delawareans who are qualified and ready to contribute in the workforce. By organizing a job fair that brings together private employers, public agencies and potential employees, we can help get people back to work and jumpstart the economy.”
Businesses looking to hire at the job fair should contact Latisha Bracy in Senator Coons’ office at 302-573-6345. Delawareans interested in attending should call 302-573-6345 or email workshop@coons.senate.gov for more information or to pre-register.
