How to make a Flag Request
We're happy to help Delaware residents purchase an American flag that can be flown over the U.S. Capitol to commemorate a special occasion, event or holiday.
If you choose to have the flag flown over the Capitol, you will receive -- along with your flag -- a certificate stating that the flag was flown over the Capitol. The certificate will include the name of the person or organization for whom the flag was flown, the occasion for which it was flown and the date it was flown.
To order a flag, print and fill out the Flag Request Form. Please make your check or money order payable to "Keeper of the Stationary" and return with the completed form to:
U.S. Senator Christopher A. Coons
Attn: Flag Coordinator
127A Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510
Our office cannot accept flag orders via the Internet or over the phone because a check or money order for the complete amount must be received before an order can be processed. Please send the order form and payment at least four weeks prior to the fly date. Once a date has passed, it is no longer possible to purchase a flag flown on that date. Allow an additional four to six weeks for delivery after the fly-date.
Only American flags can be purchased and flown over the Capitol.
