On April 12, 2021, U.S. Senators Tom Carper, Chris Coons, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (all D-Del.), and Delaware Health and Social Services Secretary Molly Magarik joined together with Dr. Janice Nevin, president and CEO of ChristianaCare at its Wilmington hospital to highlight funding for Delaware to help combat COVID-19 through vaccine distribution, education, and safety. This funding was made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act, supported by Delaware’s Congressional Delegation, and signed into law by President Biden in March. The Wilmington (DE) Chapter of The Links – in partnership with NCBW, Nu Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, and County Executive Matt Meyer – hosted its Resurrection Food Drive for Restoration this weekend, helping to feed 1,500-plus families in our community.
Mr. Marcus Wright, the Dover-based outreach coordinator for U.S. Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), was recently chronicled by Delaware Technical Community College’s online news magazine.
The Seaford native, an alumnus of Delaware Tech and Delaware State University, joined the senator’s team two years ago, serving as a college intern (2018) and then as a staff assistant (2019) in Washington, D.C.
Earlier this year, Coons promoted Wright to the position of outreach coordinator to assist educational groups, faith-based organizations, non-profits, and lead on minority outreach initiatives in Kent and Sussex.
