Tour of the solar-powered T.S. Smith & Sons farm

On October 25, 2011, Senator Chris Coons toured the T.S. Smith &Sons, Delaware’s only solar-powered Century Farm and Sussex County’s only commercial apple orchard. T.S. Smith & Sons is one of the largest solar-powered farms in Delmarva and the panels were manufactured in Newark at Motech. The family-run farm was established in 1907, by Thomas Sterling Smith, great-grandfather to Charlie Smith and his siblings — Tom and Matt Smith and Susan Hayes — who all run the farm today.
