Senator Coons will keynote a briefing on clean energy and innovation in the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington on Tuesday, exploring the roles that the private sector, universities, venture capital, federal and state governments, and other vested interests play in facilitating an economic environment that incentivizes the growth of clean energy in the United States. This event is co-hosted by the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and will be live-streamed at coons.senate.gov/live.
Chris, a member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, is devoted to supporting the development of innovative energy technologies. He believes that these advancements will create positive domestic competition for the United States and transition America away from fossil fuels. The promotion and creation of new technologies will bring lower costs for consumers and a positive outlook for the American job market.
The briefing is open to the public and will be held at noon in Russell Senate Office Building, room 325. In addition to Chris’ remarks, there will be a panel presentation by Josh Freed, the Vice President for the Clean Energy Program at Third Way; the University of Michigan’s Office of Technology Transfer Program Manager Megan Reichert-Kral; DuPont’s Research and Development Director Bill Provine; and William Lese of Braemar Energy Ventures.
