U.S. Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) joins community members to ribbon-cut the newly refurbished James T. Corcoran Jr. Memorial Park and Greenway at Coventry in New Castle, Del., Aug. 18, 2021. The park is named for Jimmy Corcoran, an arborist with the New Castle County Public Works, who passed away in 2008. Senator Coons was county executive at the time. The updated playground, which just received its new equipment, was built by KOMPAN playgrounds who custom-made the public-works-themed panels. Updates to the park were done as part of the county’s yearly replacement program. (U.S. Senate Photos/Released)
