WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement on the nomination of Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Tom Perez as Secretary of Labor.
“With our country fighting for every job it can and so many Americans still looking for work, Tom Perez is the right person to lead the Department of Labor. I strongly support his nomination. I’ve gotten to know Tom through his outstanding work on civil rights at the Justice Department and am confident that he will fight for each and every American worker. He is highly qualified to serve and it is my hope that he will receive a quick and bipartisan confirmation.”
