Senator Coons’ statement on the retirement of Congressman Charlie Dent

WILMINGTON, Del. – U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) released the following statement on the retirement of Congressman Charlie Dent:

"Charlie Dent of Allentown, PA, is a true public servant and exactly the type of conservative willing to work across the aisle that Congress needs to function again. I've had the opportunity to travel with him on two bipartisan delegations, to Eastern Europe last summer and just last week to West Africa. Never afraid to stand by his beliefs and principles both in public and in private, I think Republicans and Democrats can learn a lot from Charlie's example. Charlie and his wife Pam are genuine and kind, and it's been an honor serving with Charlie in Congress."
