WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) today issued the following statement on the President’s decision to ask Robert Mueller to serve as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for an additional two years:
“Director Mueller has served the United States admirably during one of the most difficult periods in our nation’s history, realigning the FBI to assume broader responsibility for protecting our national security. His leadership has been an important part of the effort to keep America safe and I support the President’s decision to ask him to stay on for an additional two years.”
Senator Coons is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
