If you haven’t seen it, you have to watch Senator Coons’ opening statement at today’s Judiciary Committee hearing on legislation that would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act.
”To me, this hearing is fundamentally about equality and whether or not we as a nation think it’s ok to deny some American citizens the same rights and privileges afforded other citizens,” Chris said. “Do we really think it is ok for our federal government to say ‘we simply don’t like who you love?'”
