The Week Ahead

Thursday, September 4 at 10 a.m. – The Senator will visit the Delaware Delegation’s job skills training seminar at the Wilmington Library. This will be the delegation’s first workshop dedicated to helping Delawareans develop job search skills and market themselves to potential employers. Thursday, September 4 at 11 a.m. – The Senator will give the keynote address at a United States Citizenship and Immigration Services naturalization ceremony at the Boggs Federal Building. Participants will take their Oath of Allegiance to complete the process of becoming a U.S. citizen. Judge Mary Pat Thynge will conduct the oath. J. Caleb Boggs Federal Building 844 N. Thursday, September 4 at 4 p.m.  – The Senator will speak to members of Leadership Delaware. Leadership Delaware, Inc. is a nonprofit leadership foundation established for the purpose of identifying, tutoring, and mentoring outstanding young Delawareans. 411 Legislative Avenue, Dover, DE – Closed to press.

Friday, September 5 at 8:30 a.m. – The Senator will join the Delaware Congressional Delegation for a tour of the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children hospital expansion project. The expansion features 144 single patient rooms, new 44-bed Emergency Department, an expanded Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and a new atrium that will provide easy access to all services. 2200 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE  – Closed to press.

Friday, September 5 at 10:30 a.m. – The Senator will greet employers and job seekers at the Delaware Congressional Delegation’s job fair at Delaware Technical & Community College Wilmington Campus. The job fair will feature over 80 employers seeking to fill full and part-time positions. Friday, September 5 at 11:30 a.m. – The Senator will attend the Latin American Community Center Open House recognizing the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. Attended by more than 400 individuals each year, the LACC Open House showcases delicious Latin American cuisine, cooked entirely by LACC staff, who prepare a dish typical of their native land. Friday, September 5 at 2 p.m. – The Senator will join Nativity Prep 8th grader Jaylen McDaniel on a tour of his school. Jaylen recently met Sen. Coons at a Wilmington West Rotary meeting and extended an invitation to him to tour the school. Sunday, September 7 at 3 p.m. – The Senator will be the guest speaker at The Presbyterian Church of Dover’s 300th Anniversary.
