Monday, January 19 at 8 a.m. — The Senator will deliver brief remarks at the Delaware State Bar Association’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast and Statewide Day of Service. For more than 85 years, the Delaware State Bar Association has organized and united the lawyers who practice in the State of Delaware and served as their professional association. Monday, January 19 at 8:30 a.m. — The Senator will deliver brief remarks at the 31st Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast Celebration, hosted by Delaware’s Organization of Minority Women. Monday, January 19 at 9:30 a.m. — The Senator will deliver brief remarks at the 32nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Prayer Breakfast hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Zeta Rho Lambda Chapter. Alpha Phi Alpha is the first black, inter-collegiate Greek-lettered fraternity founded at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and claims many prominent Americans as members including Dr. King. Monday, January 19 at 12 p.m. – The Senator will deliver remarks at Delaware State University’s 29th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. DSU, in cooperation with the Inner City Cultural League Inc., hosts their National Holiday Program. The event celebrates the birthday of the world’s greatest modern day civil rights leader. Wednesday, January 21 at 2:30 p.m. – The Senator will attend a Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing for Michelle K. Lee, President Obama’s nominee for Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of United States Patent and Trademark Office; and Daniel Henry Marti, President Obama’s nominee for Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator in the Executive Office of the President.
