Monday, September 29 at 8:45 a.m. – The Senator will be joined by Mayor Dennis Williams to announce the City of Wilmington’s selection in the Department of Justice’s Violence Reduction Network. Joining one of only five cities in the US, the VRN is a new, elite federal network that brings all of the expertise and experience of the federal government – with leaders from former local police who have reduced crime in their communities to help make cities safer. Tuesday, September 30 at 6 p.m.  – The Senator will address the 9th Annual Delaware Trust Conference reception. 2014 Delaware Trust Conference presents a novel approach to wealth planning.  This, the ninth annual edition of this premiere trust event, will feature detailed case studies to tell a story of the Delaware Trust advantage. Thursday, October 2, at 6 p.m. – The Senator will attend the Cancer Support Community of Delaware fundraiser “Partnering for a Purpose” at Janssen’s Market. Friday, October 3 at 10 a.m. – The Senator will mark National Manufacturing Day with several visits to local manufacturers throughout Delaware. Senator Coons will begin the day touring and meeting employees of Air Liquide’s research and development facility. Sen. Friday, October 3 at 12 p.m. – The Senator will join employees of PPG for lunch and meet with plant head Mitch Magee, chair of Delaware Manufacturing Association. PPG was founded in 1883 as Pittsburgh Plate Glass and is a global supplier of paints, coatings, optical products, specialty materials, glass and fiber glass.
