Tuesday, April 21 at 10:30 a.m.  The Senator will deliver remarks at the Association of American Universities’ Spring Meeting. The Association of American Universities (AAU) is an international organization of leading research universities devoted to maintaining a strong system of academic research and education. Wednesday, April 22 at 9:00 a.m. – The Senator will attend a Steering Committee meeting to discuss reform of the Elementary and Secondary Schools Act. This discussion will bring together advocacy groups and national organizations to discuss issues critical to the reauthorization of the ESEA and how Senate Democrats can best meet the needs of students across the country. Wednesday, April 22 at 12:30 p.m. — The Senator will deliver a keynote speech for a World Malaria Day event. This event, hosted by the Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, will bring together a range of speakers and stakeholders united in the fight against this infectious disease. Thursday, April 23 at 5:15 p.m. – The Senator will attend a reception for former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Friday, April 24 at 5:00 p.m. – The Senator will attend the Del-PAC Student Leadership Dinner. These awards recognize individuals who have enriched modern society in a range of human endeavors; honorees this year include musician Jon Bon Jovi and actor Edward Norton for Public Service awards, in addition to entrepreneur and founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales for the Mass Communications Award.
