REHOBOTH, Del. – U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons and U.S. Representative John Carney (all D-Del.) hosted a job fair at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center on Monday featuring more than 70 currently-hiring employers, with over 200 job seekers in attendance. This was the third of three such fairs hosted by the delegation this year.
Organizations from the public and private sectors, including Kate Spade, the Wilmington Police Department, and the University of Delaware met with prospective employees, accepted resumes and applications, and in some cases conducted on-the-spot job interviews.
Visitors to the job fair were also invited to attend job seeking skills workshops with Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County. During these workshops, “Dress for Success” and “Interview Skills,” participants will learn how to build a neat and professional wardrobe and how to present oneself during an interview.
Since 2011, the Congressional Delegation has hosted 26 job fairs in Delaware, including four specifically for veterans. Past job fairs hosted by the Congressional Delegation took place in New Castle County on April 10th at Delaware Technical Community College’s Stanton campus and in Kent County on March 23rd at Wilmington University’s Dover Campus. These fairs successfully connected hundreds of unemployed Delawareans with prospective employers.
