About the Bipartisan Senate Climate Solutions Caucus

We acknowledge that stewardship of our climate is essential for human health, safety, longevity, and for the progress and advancement of humanity. Our activities play an essential role in our climate and environment. Congress must play an active role in developing law, policy, and technology that advance and enhance measurement, curation, mitigation, and adaptation related to climate.

We affirm that bipartisan action on climate strengthens American competitiveness and leadership while protecting and promoting the economic interests of all Americans.

We know that Republicans, Democrats, and Independents, working collectively, will create the best opportunity for action and progress that improves our environment and human welfare.

The Climate Solutions Caucus will consider and discuss key challenges and issues, along with the current science and knowledge on those issues. We will consider the most judicious solutions to address known issues. The caucus will develop and advance policy and legislative ideas based on our proceedings.

These topics may include, without limitation, the following areas:

  • Promoting environmental protection through research and innovation in clean and advanced technologies, such as carbon capture and energy storage.
  • Encouraging clean energy through policy and strategies for the private sector, and federal, state, and local governments.
  • Addressing the unique needs of specific sectors such as manufacturing or transportation.
  • Sequestering or reducing emissions through reforestation, agricultural practices, and conservation.
  • Promoting resilience and adaptation to the effects of our changing climate.
  • Emphasizing common sense over special interests, and smart over popular.
  • Working collaboratively with other nations, especially major emitting economies, to take meaningful actions to address global issues.
  • Crafting policies that reduce emissions while also creating 21st  century jobs and ensuring that no American is left behind.
