Tuesday, September 16 at 9:30 a.m. — The Senator will address the Opening Session of the Judicial Conference of the United States. The Senator, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Bankruptcy and the Courts, will discuss the state of the U.S. Court System and the need to fill judicial vacancies. Tuesday, September 16 at 10:30 a.m. — The Senator will attend the Angels in Adoption Senate Pin Ceremony. The Congressional Coalition on Adoptions Institute’s Angels in Adoption Program honors individuals, couples, and organizations that have made extraordinary contributions on behalf of children in need of families. Senator Coons will present Sherfone Johnson, a Delawarean, with an award for her work on adoption. Kennedy Caucus Room, 325 Russell Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C. 

Wednesday, September 17 at 9:00 a.m. The Senator will chair a Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee meeting on reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank. Paul Sullivan, a Delawarean and Director of International Business Development at Acrow Bridge, will join executives from Boeing, Dow, General Electric, and others to discuss the importance of reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank. Wednesday, September 17 at 2:30 p.m. The Senator will attend a Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Iraq. The committee will examine the United States’ strategy to defeat the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant. Friday, September 19 at 7:00 a.m. – The Senator will attend the Delaware State University Prayer Breakfast. DSU, MLK Student Center, Dover, DE.

Friday, September 19 at 10:00 a.m. – The Senator will attend the Chimes Delaware 20th Anniversary Open House. Chimes Delaware is one of the largest providers in Delaware of community services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring disabilities. Friday, September 19 at 2:00 p.m. – The Senator will participate in a roundtable discussion on foster care with members of the Delaware Congressional Delegation; representatives from the Delaware Department of Services to Children, Youth and their Families; and foster care providing agencies.
