WASHINGTON - Today, Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) issued the following statement on the shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, U.S. District Court Judge John M. Roll and several others:
“My heart goes out to the families of the victims of today's horrific shooting in Tucson. Such senseless violence is never acceptable in our society, least of all against someone who was working so hard to improve the lives of her constituents.
“I've known and admired Congresswoman Giffords for nearly a decade. She is an energetic, caring and dedicated public servant for the people of Arizona. Annie and I are praying for Congresswoman Giffords, Judge Roll, those who were wounded and all of their families.”
